Our Mission
At the core of our organization is the Welsh word "hiraeth," which can be loosely translated as 'nostalgia', or more commonly, 'homesickness'. Many Welsh people claim 'hiraeth' is a word which cannot be translated, meaning more than solely "missing something" or "missing home". To some, it implies the meaning of missing a time, an era, or a person. It's a combination of nostalgia, melancholy, and a deep longing for a past that is gone and can never be recaptured.
We understand that many first responders and veterans experience a similar feeling of longing for the life they had before their traumatic experiences, and we strive to create that sense of belonging and connection for all who seek our support.
Our organization offers a wide range of services including family events, outdoor excursions, camaraderie, support networks, sporting events and much more. We aim to create a community of individuals who understand the unique challenges faced by those who have served our communities and country and are committed to helping them heal and thrive.
We tend to offer to fill the gap between other organizations and work together as a team for the same mission. Health and wellness in our everyday hero community. We aim to bridge the gap between organizations and collaborate as a unified team towards a common goal: promoting health and wellness within our everyday hero community.
“Real heroes don’t wear capes. Real superheroes wear uniforms and badges and stethoscopes. Real superheroes are members of our military, law enforcement and first responders. Pretend superheroes wear capes”
-Dean Cain
